How to Get Your 3-K or Pre-K4 Offer

Who Can Apply:

Children who turn 3 or 4 by December 31 of the year they would begin school. are eligible to apply to our 3-K for All and PreK-4 for All programs through the NYC Department of Education’s MySchools portal. Be sure to list Redeemer-St. John’s Nursery School (RSJ) as your top choice to increase your chances of receiving an offer.

For 3-K:

Children who turn 3 by December 31 may apply for a seat in our 3-K program. This program introduces young learners to the foundations of social-emotional development, early literacy, and joyful classroom routines.

PreK-4:

Children who turn 4 by December 31 may apply for our PreK-4 program. The PreK-4 year deepens school readiness through play-based learning, emerging academic skills, and increased independence in a nurturing setting.

Your Offer Letter and What Comes Next

After submitting your application, you’ll receive an official offer letter from the NYC Department of Education.

  1. Your child’s program offer.
    This letter details your child’s 3-K or PreK-4 program placement.
  2. Waitlist Information.
    If your child is waitlisted, the letter explains what that means and how the waitlist process works.
  3. How to Accept Your Offer.
    Clear instructions are included on how to confirm your child’s enrollment and secure their spot at RSJ Nursery School.

Important: Be sure to accept your child’s offer by June 25.

Even if you are hoping for a waitlist offer, accepting your current offer is essential. It secures your child’s seat in the program and does not affect your chances of receiving a waitlist offer for another program later. Waitlists will remain open throughout the summer. To review your offer and confirm your child’s seat, log into the MySchools portal using the button below.

What You Can Do Online with MySchools

Using the MySchools portal, you can:

  1. View your child’s offer letter
  2. Accept your child’s offer
  3. Check any waitlists your child is on, if applicable
  4. Add your child to additional waitlists (optional)
  5. Monitor your child’s position on each waitlist
